I. Design Task of Automatic End Cap Welding Machine
1. automatic end cap welding machine is designed to weld double tank end caps. automatically circular seam welding type. end cap can be both tag and butt welding.
2. machine will join end cap and tank body. they are clamped tightly by tank fixtures.
3. welding machine will ensure the welding location of tank end cap, positioning automatically. Welding quality meets the CE standard.
4. TIG welding machine, one side welding with back side formation.

III. Machine Specification
1. Double welding torches weld end caps at the same time.
2. Japan Omron PLC is adopted to control the clamping and welding programs. The system has a good stability.
3. HMI as the input and output interface, welding length and other parameters can be input via it. It has alarm when a failure happens during the welding process and give trouble shooting indication.
4. Adopts end cap positioning and pneumatically clamping mode.
5. The pneumatic tailstock can be moved along machine to meet different length tank welding. Tailstock is equipped with Morse taper No5.
6. Arc tracking system and torch oscillator will improve welding accuracy.
IV. Working Procedures
Loading the tank to the brackets manually - clamping the workpiece pneumatically - welding torch going down - supplying shielding gas - completing the given welding length - welding torch lifting up - V-brackets lifting up - pneumatically returning back - unloading the workpiece
